Pretty ideas, bits, and bobs

Thursday, 18 September 2014
There's just something so exciting about moving into a new place in that you can pick up all your old stuff and shove it into a new environment and it all looks like 10x more amazing! Of course with the addition of a whole bunch more stuff you bought beforehand cuz it would 'look good in the new house'. Now with the idea of packing boxes being a month away my heads just brimming with ideas about how I (and the boyfriend but mainly I) will make the place look fabby. I've been browsing Tumblr and Pintrest for some basic ideas at the moment and not allowing myself to get too involved in ideas until we've moved in and seen where everything we already have is going to fit. Especially as I'm probably only going to be living there for around 2 weeks before I move back home for the summer until January when the real work kicks in and I'm, as my boyfriend puts it, 'allowed to put all the girly shit everywhere'. Until then the scrolling will continue, mood boards will be created in my head and probably some minor things might be bought oops...

Artist Attraction #3 | Dawn Tan

Sunday, 2 February 2014

I came across this artist whilst browsing Pintrest a while ago and ended up spending quite a while browsing her various pieces. After coming across her again on Tumblr I thought I might include a little post about her work on the blog. Dawn Tan lives in Australia and specialises mainly in landscapes, food and plants, her art is laid back and fun to look at. I wish I had the confidence she has with watercolour. I think she's been one of my latest inspirations to my work especially as I discovered her shortly before purchasing my first watercolour palette set. I wonder if you could actually make what she's drawn just from seeing the ingredients, the pieces are really unique and I really wish I could have one for my room! Even just the soy bread and smoothie piece, which shows how easy her inspiration comes to her - just from breakfast. I think from looking at her architecture pieces that the year 10 art class at my school studied her, that's a bit freaky coming across the actual artist years later!

All I want for Christmas is Etsy

Sunday, 8 December 2013

Leggings l Spoons l Straws l Jumper l Card l Bauble
Day 8 ~
Earlier today I was browsing pintrest when I came across these really cute personalised cards that led me to Etsy. If you don't know what Etsy is it's a online marketplace really where people can sell their mostly handmade creations. There's some really cute things on there and unfortunately its targeted at Americans so most don't ship to outside major countries so all I can do is drool at the amazing things people have created. I've collected a few things from the site today that are really Christmassey and I would love myself as well as love to give to people I know as presents. I really wish I could get personalised cards, I might look into making my own for next Christmas that would be so cute! x

Pinning the future

Friday, 25 October 2013

A few months ago I signed up to Pintrest but having browsed that first time I didn't understand the addictions some people have (including my mum). But a couple of days ago I returned specifically to browse the home decor pins as Tumblr didn't have enough inspiration for my liking. Oh how I was a naive child turning away from Pintrest those many months ago it's now become one of my favourite website under Tumblr and others of course, it can't take over that easily. What's a lousy 64 pins compared to 19,000 reblogs.. If you want to follow me the link to my boards is below.

I personally love interior decorating and can't wait to design my own house, I'm not sure if I want to pursue a career into it as I really didn't like the spacial classes I took this year. It's fun to browse though and get ideas for when I do finally get my own home x
