#025 | Stalled Series: Series we haven't finished

Welcome back to Rants and Reviews! In this week’s episode we’re taking a look back at some of the series that we’ve started over the years but for whatever reason have yet to finish. Keep listening to find out which contemporary series Sophie needs to keep reading, and which books Anjali needs to read before their upcoming movie releases.

Sophie is currently reading Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks, and Lost in the Spanish Quarter by Heddi Goodrich.

Anjali is currently reading Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell.

MAIN FEATURE

Our rule for this week’s episode was we have to have read at least one book in the series, and there has to be at least one book published/released that we haven’t read. There can be more books coming out in the future, or it could be a finished series.

(10:08) Sophie kicks us off with her first series: the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. While Anjali didn’t have it on her list (as she thought Sophie would include it), she hasn’t finished that series either. Anjali’s first pick is Maas’ other series, A Court of Thorns and Roses; she’s only read the first one.

(16:20) Rick Riordan makes an appearance in our lists once again, with Sophie sharing one of the series which she hasn’t finished. There’s only one more book to go, so she really needs to just pick it up and read it. Especially because she wants to read the following series, but not until she finishes this one.

(23:20) Anjali has a genius idea. You heard it here first.

(24:16) Anjali’s next pick is one that she needs to keep reading before the second movie comes out in 2020. She loved the first one (and the movie was pretty good!), so it’s just a matter of actually picking it up.

(26:00) We step back in time, to the years when we read books as they came out. Sophie’s next series is one that she’s been meaning to finish reading (after discovering when we started the podcast, that she’s never actually finished) for years now.

(34:00) An Ember in the Ashes, by Sabaa Tahir, is Anjali’s last pick for this episode. She’s read the first two books, but not the last one.
