I've Got A Dream, I've Got A Dream

Wednesday, 13 May 2015

After reading the chapter in Carrie's All I Know Now book about having a dream and working for it no matter how realistic it is it got me thinking about some of my dreams. Some of my dreams could be just classed as goals but I do have one dream that pretty much won't happen but I can still dream right?

I kinda um want to be a face character at a Disney park.

For those of you who doesn't know what that means it basically means I want to be one of the people who dress up and act like one of the Disney characters. I'm not 100% sure who I'd like to be and wouldn't really care if I actually managed to be anyone but I feel like my personality and looks would suit Rapunzel best.

The problem with this dream is for a start I'd have to move country again, I'd want to be in an English speaking country so that only leaves America - either Florida or California. Once that's achieved I'd have to wait until there's actually an opening and then attend auditions. To audition for a face character you have to go through different rounds; singing, dancing, acting and of course looks. Now I'm not totally tone deaf, I don't have left feet, and I feel I could act like Rapunzel pretty well if I worked at it so all of those can be taught. I would happily wear green contact lenses and adopt a chameleon if it improved my looks more but I doubt that would get me to the point of being chosen. That's if I qualify for the height restrictions, I'm not sure of Rapunzels height restrictions but I know for a fact I'm too tall to play Wendy and Alice unfortunately.

So you see it's not that my dreams realistic but it'll be very hard to do which is why I've been aiming for smaller dreams that are more obtainable in that I don't have to move country just yet. Do any of you have a dream like me? Slightly unobtainable? Let's sing it out Rapunzel style...

McFly, MSN, and Myspace

Monday, 27 April 2015

I saw recently on Sarah-Elizabeth's blog, The Spanish Bluebell, that she did this little remembering post with a random coin she pulled out her wallet. Pretty much the gist is you pull it out at random and reminisce about things you did in that year. Problem was I pulled out a couple of coins first that were 1990 and 1991 so yeah I wasn't born but next was 2008, coincidently the same as Sarah-Elizabeth! So what was happening in 2008?

Well I turned 14 and was in year 9 for a start, oh year 9 that was truly an awful year for me... that and year 10. Unfortunately my school was a year 7-13 school so everyone was already in friend groups and it wasn't like everyone was in a new school together. I'd only been in New Zealand for just over 3 months of 2007 so 2008 was my first proper year in NZ and my first proper go at school with electives and everything. I was currently ahead of most of my year as the UK is quite far ahead in teaching so I was in all of the top classes and knew everything my beginner French teacher was teaching the class.

I met the only two people I really speak to properly now from high school in this year. Conveniently the girl I sat next to in Maths was the daughter of my mums work colleagues so we ended up getting to be pretty good friends. The other we didn't really get to know each other until the following year but we met and knew each other so that counts right? I spent most of my time with my best friend at the time who had around 8 dogs at that current moment in time I think, I could never keep up, but that amazed me. I also got my first pair of rats this year, Milo and Slinky, they were my buddies and detested by many but they were the cutest things.

I didn't join Facebook until 2009 so it was all Myspace and a bit of Bebo for me in 2008 oh how those were the days. Gosh I think I was still on MSN back then, there was only so many ways you could keep in contact with friends on the other side of the world. I mean I had to have someone to talk to about McFly and other British bands seen as no one in NZ knew who they were! I'm pretty sure I was still snooping around things like Runescape and Neopets as well when my friends weren't looking and was my Gaia Online phase in 2008 I cant remember.

I think that's about it, or about as much as I can remember and am willing to share. Pretty much I was a bit lame haha hopefully I've improved since then, at least I can kinda apply make-up now and don't think bright red jeans are the key to fashion... If you have a go at this let me know!

Lunch with the classics

Wednesday, 3 September 2014

The holidays are getting really close to the end and Mum and I decided to take her last day off while I'm here to head out and have some Mother/Daughter bonding time (unfortunately for the bonding Dad tagged along for lunch). We went along to the local pancake house and had a blast, well had a pancake. I have a habit of going for the classics instead of one of their fancy concoctions and opted for the lemon and sugar with ice cream. Can I just say this is a regular and its flippin' massive (see what I did there), I didn't manage to finish it unfortunately but I got so very close! Along with that I stuck with the classics and got some tea, cuz I luuuurve my tea and it came in this gorgeous teapot that I just wanted to smuggle away under my coat.

Along with lunch we strolled around town and as my mum's an avid card maker we splurged along the craft stores and I came away with some really awesome stickers and almost a load more but ya know student poorness. The amount of stickers I wish I could buy but don't is amazing, I'm pretty sure if I had loads of money I'd be swimming in stickers... among other things!

Winter Wonderland

Wednesday, 14 August 2013

I was looking through my files for a photograph for my friend for uni and I came across my folder from when I first got my DSLR camera back in England in December. Of course having the new thing I wanted to just take a photograph of everything and got way too snap happy without even reading how to even use the bloody thing. I still haven't even properly learnt yet I am slow at getting my arse into gear guys. I loved taking photos of the scenery around my Nan and Grandads place because it was so pretty in the winter and frankly that's what I miss about winter here in New Zealand because winter is just rain and wind here.. in England it's amazingly beautiful with frost and chills and the occasional icicle and frozen rivers. I wish I'd taken more of the landscape as it was frankly so beautiful, sometimes I wish I lived there again so I could take in the beauty everyday.. x
