SO WHAT'S THE PLAN?
My aim was to have a main goal to focus on for each month of the year but already halfway through January that hasn't worked out. And, that's okay! Instead, I've been working on all of them while directly focussing on a couple at a time and so far that's working out better. My overall plan for this year is to grow. To work on the skills I want to be better at in order to get where I want to be in 5 or 10 years. I want to create and post more content to grow my following on my lettering Instagram. Then, in turn, grow the number of people interested in my work so when I eventually create something people can buy, I'll have the community there ready and waiting for it to launch.
Last year I ended up achieving way more than just the small 18 goals I put on the list. I organised my life, got a little bit more confident, I went on my first overseas holiday without an 'adult' in tow, and I even launched a podcast that currently has 10 episodes and 2 mini episodes! Even more surprising, I started learning to drive again after almost 9 years of stress and anxiety - hopefully I can get my restricted this year as that's another of my definitive completion goals.
WHERE TO FROM HERE?
Well my plan for the rest of January and all of February is just to create content. I want to continue to post on here at least once a week, and I want to continue posting as much as possible on my lettering Instagram. Currently I'm managing every day but I don't want to put that pressure on myself to continue exactly that, I'm happy with 'as much as possible'.
The aim is to figure out what it is I like to make and possibly 'find my style' but who knows how long that's going to take! If you'd like to follow my journey though, be sure to follow me on @sofillyletters as my regular instagram isn't getting as much love at the moment because of this.
I also want to illustrate more and fingers crossed actually get better at it, in particular drawing people to add to my lettering. As you may be able to tell from my attempted self portrait above I really need to work on proportions and how the hell arms connect to the body?!?

Well done if you made it this far! My year is going to be full of things I want to do and maybe I'll achieve it all but more likely I won't but I feel a little bit better knowing the direction I want to go in. If you're interested in what my 12 goals actually are (and that's why you're here... sorry) let me know and I can go into them a bit more.
