Normally I have the series of Recently Read, however I've been gaming and watching movies and listening to some new things this past week or so and I thought I'd share some mini reviews of them as well!
Recently Read / Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
After watching the trailer (without sound I might add) and seeing everyone raving about the story I thought I may have a read. Along with all the other books I've read because everyone on the internet was raving about them I had no idea really what I was getting myself into, apart from the soundless trailer. Let's just say everyone was raving for a reason, if I didn't have other things to deal with I would have just sat there and read the entire thing in one go. It's not your average love story, you kind of know what is going to happen but you have no idea what happens in between. I've just loaded After You onto my iPad Kindle so I'm planning on getting into that tonight.
Recently Gamed / LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7
Ever since we got the Xbox years ago I've been looking for a game that I can play on my own, instead of all the multiplayer games, and the other day I found this one in EB Games and haven't stopped playing really. I prefer games that are more RPG that you're not super stressed about dying every second, which this suits well. I've played the first game years 1-4 on various devices but never really enjoyed it as I have this one. Guess I just love the fact that I get to experience the Harry Potter world in a new different way and if I accidentally get the wrong spell in a duel I can't die and have to redo everything. Either way I'm now onto the last movie part of the game and I am loving it!
Recently Watched / Lord of the Rings
Coming from someone who's always incredibly insulted if someone hasn't read/watched all the Harry Potter stories, I've never actually properly watched the Lord of the Rings films so Lotr fans please send all the insults you want. However my boyfriend's a huge fan and after I actually went to Weta Workshop the other day and learnt all about the behind the scenes stuff I thought I should probably watch them. It's not like I haven't tried it's just they're not hugely my thing especially for 3 hours at a time, I get distracted. I like the story and the characters but I feel like I'd like it much better if some of the less important parts were removed and it was around 2 hours long, or a TV show like Game of Thrones as I'm sure there's so much more in the books that aren't in the movies like Harry Potter. I'm sorry if I've just insulted you incredibly but it's just a personal opinion.
Recently Listened / Spotify Discover Weekly
Okay so I knew this existed but I never ventured into it, until now. I wasn't feeling any of my playlists and the top 40 playlists weren't doing it so I thought I'd try out Discover and oh my I discovered so many songs from the past that I loved and just forgot about. Talk about the throwback; JLS, Busted, Boyce Avenue, and Scouting for Girls. Plus some of the covers are excellent, I mean I can finally listen to that song I like, that I hated when the actual artist sung it.
Have you discovered anything new recently that you've been loving? or hating? I've just started watching the Shadowhunters TV series so I'll let you know how that goes!
