My Baby Turns One | The Furry Friends Tag

A year ago today this fluff ball was only two days old, I can't even begin to think about how fast this year has gone. Born as a stray we saved the little cutie from life on the streets, I don't understand how a kitty this cute [and his mum and 3 siblings] were left outside in the first place. He used to be the shyest scared little thing, but boy has that changed! After watching one of Jim Chapman's latest videos I thought this would be the perfect time to do the Furry Friends Tag.

What is your pet's name? Oliver

What kind of pet is it and what breed? He's a little shorthaired mixed breed thing, more importantly he's a glorious silvery grey tabby coloured.

How long have you had your pet friend? As we got him at 9 weeks and he's now a year old, we've had him around 10 months now.

How did you get your pet? After all the pet adoption places like the SPCA were closed that day we started looking round all of the vet's bulletin boards and eventually found a notice for a litter of little kittens and went to check it out. Short story about 2 hours later we had a new kitten running around the place.

How old is your pet? A whole year old, practically a man.

What are some quirky things about your pet's personality? He doesn't lie down like a normal cat, he lies with his back paws out the back and his front paws out the front, like a big skinny long cat. This probably doesn't make sense so you can see a picture here. He also doesn't really like human food, which I'm pretty sure is rare with cats, you can leave your food on a plate on the floor and get a drink and he won't touch it. He may sniff it and have a nose but he won't normally bother eating it - he prefers his kitty biscuits. However he has licked the tomato sauce off my boyfriend's burger once and left the burger.

What does your relationship with your pet mean to you? After a cat-less year of my life in 2014 I seriously just needed so many kitten cuddles that he's now turned into the cuddliest cat. However pretty much only with me, he's still got a lot of that shyness he had the first day we met him.

What are some of your favourite past times with your pet? Cuddling, playing, cuddling, playing with his fluffy pink sparkly toy cat called Roger, and more cuddling. He also likes to follow us, when we leave, down the road to uni / town some days.

What are the nicknames that you call your pet? Ollie, Mister, Ollie-Wollie, Cutie pie, Annoying thing, Loud thing, Squishy, Fluffball, Salami [when he lies down in his long kitty pose].

He's now huge and super fluffy and adorable, and such a grown up now on his adult cat food. I hope you enjoy the kitty photos, I was going to include more but I already think it may be too much for those who aren't super kitty lovers. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed his new special birthday mouse toy and the extra lot of cuddles throughout the day. Or he was just secretly saying 'ergh just leave me alone already!'
